“If you have anything to say, anything you feel nobody has ever said before, you have got to feel it so desperately that you will find some way to say it that nobody has ever found before, so that the thing you have to say and the way of saying it blend as one matter—as indissolubly as if they were conceived together.” —F. Scott Fitzgerald

Day 3: Eight Places You Want To Visit

1. Greece is definitely at the top of my list. It looks simply beautiful.

2. Prague.

3. I’ve always wanted to drive Iceland’s Ring Road in the summertime.

4. Big Sur, California.

5. MAINE. In the late summertime. I and a couple friends have been planning to go camping in Maine for the past two years, and it’s never quite worked out. But sometime before I’m 24, it’s going to happen.

6. St. Petersburg, Russia. Russian history fascinates me.

7. I’ve been to Sydney before, but I’d love to return to Australia and travel up the eastern coast.

8. Seattle, WA.

Day 2: Nine Things You Can’t Live Without

1. My iTunes library. I literally don’t know what I would do without it. I know this makes me sound like a selfish, overprivileged American, but I really don’t know what I would do without my music collection. Go crazy, probably.

2. Water. I know I physically can’t live without it, but science aside, I really don’t know what I would do if the world only offered flavored drinks. I’ll take a glass of cold, crisp water over a coke any day.

3. My friends. I don’t know the kind of person I would be without them.

4. Writers. I don’t care if they write news articles or novels, as long as they write something. A world without words is one I cannot ever imagine inhabiting.

5. Passion. A life without passion is hardly life at all.

6. Lysol. I cannot tolerate a truly dirty area, especially in a kitchen or a bathroom.

7. Freeways. Thanks to the existence of these glorified roads, I can drive over 45 miles per hour. And I can roll down my windows, put my favorite CD in, and feel completely free.

8. I’m not entirely sure how to phrase this one, but “a sense of adventure,” seems the best way in which I can describe it. When you no are no longer curious or adventurous, when you are no longer inspired to learn and understand something foreign…I think that would be altogether awful.

9. My family. Sometimes I think they are going to be the cause of my insanity, but they are my family.

Day 1: Ten Things You Wanted/Want To Be When You’re Older.

1. I once wanted to be a doctor. But then I learned that even just thinking about how the inside of the human body works makes me cringe. Not to mention that I’m not very good at science.

2. I remember telling my mom that I was going to be an painter. I think I was about five or six. Anyway, if you know anything about my painting/drawing abilities, you should realize what a joke this thought is. But I was dead serious at the time.

3. I thought once I’d want to be a librarian. Sometimes I still do.

4. I’ve always wanted to be an author, to a certain extent. Maybe not depend on my writing for a living, but do it on the side and hope that maybe I’ll eventually get published and inspire a few readers.

5. Speaking of depending on my writing for a living, I was entirely convinced I was going to be a journalist for most of high school. I’m perfectly capable, or at least have the potential to be, but…it’s just not something I like enough to do for the rest of my life.

6. I’ve always aspired to own my own clothing boutique. I would genuinely love that, I’m convinced.

7. A housewife. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t want to be a housewife?

8. The idea of being a flight attendant has always fascinated me. I know everyone says the hours are awful and you have to deal with rude people all the time, but I really don’t mind things like that.

9. A writer for a television show. TV shows seem to be one of the few mediums left where character driven storytelling is still expected and accepted by the majority of the population. At least in my opinion.

10. I would absolutely love to teach high school English. And it is my plan to do just that eventually.
